David getting on his bike to promote debut album
Getting an album out there is no easy feat but David Burke is promoting himself and his debut album in a completely different way to most musicians. He plans to play 32 shows in 32 days and to do this he’ll travel to all 32 counties in Ireland . . . on a bike.
“I want to get my music out there and get people listening so if this helps, excellent! As I love big challenges, I’d probably be doing something hare-brained like this anyway,” says the Kildare native who will bring his Where Colours Cycle tour to Monroe’s Live on Saturday 15 March.
The album is called Where Colours Swim and has brought David his fair share of success so far by becoming RTÉ Radio 1’s Album of the Week, as well as the iTunes Ireland number one Singer/Songwriter Album.
For the album, David wrote his music on the same piano that Freddie Mercury played during the Bohemian Rhapsody sessions; he recorded four songs with the string orchestrator and players from Amy Winehouse’s Back to Black album, and he worked with producers Roger Beschirian and Adam Kviman.
