DATE SET FOR OUGHTERARD MANSLAUGHTER TRIAL

A date has been set for the trial of a man and a teenager who are charged with the manslaughter of Oughterard publican and teacher John Kenny.

35-year-old Marian Lingurar of Orchard Court, Blackpool, Co Cork, is charged along with a juvenile, who cannot be named for legal reasons, with the manslaughter of 56-year-old Mr Kenny at Kenny’s Bar on Main Street, Oughterard, on September 25, 2011.

Prosecuting barrister, Conor Fahy indicated at Galway Circuit Criminal Court that the trial would last two to three weeks.

Judge Rory McCabe set a trial date for June 4th next.
