DATE SET FOR INQUEST INTO DEATH OF SAVITA HALAPPANAVAR AT UHG

A date has been set for a coroner’s inquest into the death of Savita Halappanavar at University Hospital Galway.

The inquest will open Friday week – the 18th of January.

A full inquest is expected to last around a week in March and take place at Galway courthouse.

Two separate inquiries are also under way into the case.

31 year old Savita Halapannavar died at UHG on October 28th after suffering a miscarriage and contracting septicaemia.

Her family have now begun the process of taking a case to the European court of Human rights seeking a sworn public inquiry.
