DANGEROUS DRIVING CAUSING DEATH OF CLAREGALWAY WOMAN TRIAL ADJOURNED

The trial of a doctor charged with dangerous driving which caused the death of another woman out walking a dog near Claregalway two years ago has been adjourned to October for hearing.

N.M. Devi Chalikonda, with an address at The Ashes, Cnoc an Glas, Spiddal, is charged with dangerous driving which caused the death of Eileen O’Halloran, at Cregboy, Claregalway on August 28, 2007.

At Galway Circuit Criminal Court yesterday, defence barrister, John O’Donnell applied to the court for an adjournment.

Judge Raymond Groarke adjourned the matter for trial to October 6 next.
