CUSTODY REMAND FOR TAXI DRIVER CHARGED WITH ALLEGED SEXUAL ABUSE OF TWO CHILDREN

A taxi driver has been remanded in custody at a special sitting of Galway District Court charged with the alleged sexual abuse of two children.

The 45 year old man, who cannot be named for legal reasons, faces 28 sample charges of sexually assaulting two girls on various dates from January 2000, to December 2003 at a Co. Galway location.

Judge McCarthy remanded the accused in custody with consent to bail to Harristown District Court this Friday, May 29 for the preparation of a Book of Evidence.
