CUSTODY REMAND FOR MAN CHARGED WITH GORT ASSAULT

A Portuguese national has been remanded in custody to appear before Ennis District Court on Friday in connection with an assault in Gort town on Sunday night.

20 year old Miguel Carvalla De Silva, with no known address, appeared before Athenry District court today [tues apr 8] charged under two counts of the non fatal offences against the person act 1997.

Two brothers from Clare, also in their twenties, had to be treated in hospital for non life threatening injuries.
