CUSTODY REMAND FOR MAN CHARGED IN CONNECTION WITH CAR CHASE

The man charged in connection with a 25 mile car chase from Salthill to Loughrea early yesterday [tues sept 2] has been remanded in custody.

The 24 year old man gave his name in court in Athlone as Femi Alabi with an address at Gort na Bró, Knocknacarra.

He’s charged with criminal damage and the unauthorised taking of a vehicle.

Alabi was arrested at a Garda checkpoint in Loughrea at 3.30 yesterday morning.
