CUSTODY REMAND FOR MAN ARRESTED IN GALWAY FOR BALLINROBE SERIOUS ASSAULTS

Three men, who were arrested in Galway, Mayo and Sligo have appeared in court in Letterkenny charged in connection with a number of serious assaults in Ballinrobe in Mayo last weekend.
They’ve been remanded in custody to appear at Harristown Court tomorrow when the issue of bail will be addressed.
20 year old Eddie Sweeney with an address at New Street, Ballinrobe and his cousin 21 year old Paddy Sweeney from Bog road in Ballinrobe were charged with causing bodily harm to 27 year old John Francis Reddington in the Co. Mayo town on the 16th of August.
25 year old James Sweeney from Glendallon in Co. Sligo was charged with assault causing bodily harm to Jonathon O’Malley in Ballinrobe on the same date.
A second man arrested in County Galway yesterday was released without charge last evening and a file is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
