CUSTODY REMAND FOR GRANDSON OF MURDERED PENSIONER

A 22 year old man has been remanded in custody, to appear in in court again next week in connection with the murder of his grandfather Finbar Fahy in Ardrahan on Wednesday.

Gearoid Fahy of Corrownamona Ardrahan, county Galway appeared before a special sitting of Ennis district court last evening.

In response to the charge, the accused said "Im sorry for what I’ve done and Im sorry for all the people Ive hurt".

Gearoid Fahy was remanded in custody to appear before Shannon District Court next Thursday.
