Mad Hatter Day is the last day of the Galway Races and it gives a chance to all those who were unsuccessful in the Best Dressed Lady Competition another chance to don their glad rags.
The last and most wacky day of the Galway Races on Sunday saw women, men and children dress up in the most stylish, creative and even outrageous hats, all vying for a chance at winning some top prizes and just enjoy what is one of Ireland’s most popular sporting and social events.
Podge and Rodge assistant and TV presenter, Lucy Kennedy judged this year’s Mercer Accommodation Group Mad Hatter Day. Lucy was looking for colourful, creative and fun hats, and Castlegar woman Ann Marie Ryan won the top award, coming dressed as ‘Crypto Women’ and wearing plastic water bottles on her head accompanied by a plastic skirt.
