Cruise liner visits Galway this morning

A small cruise liner, Saga Ruby, stopped off in Galway bay and anchored off Mutton Island this morning (Tuesday) as it made its way from Cork to Oban, Scotland. There were up to 700 passengers onboard the $35 million British liner and many came ashore using the ship’s smaller vessels and headed off around Galway on chartered bus tours while others strolled around the city’s streets.
Tom O’Neill, Chief Executive of Galway Harbour Company said: “It would be great for the area if Galway could attract more cruisers like this.”
