Croatia calling! Top prize in Tribune’s Photo Competition

Galway’s amateur photographers will be delighted to learn that the top prize for the My Galway, My Culture photo competition has just been announced. It’s a week’s holiday for two in Croatia.

Croatia will be the home of one of Europe’s Capitals of Culture in 2020 and Galway is bidding to be the other, so this prize offers a luck local photographer the chance to visit historic Dubrovnik or spend time on a beach resort, or both.

The My Galway, My Culture photo competition in support of Galway 2020 – European Capital of Culture bid – was launched two weeks ago and already there has been strong interest and some excellent entries.

The competition leaves it up to you to define what culture means to you.

We want photos from all over Galway City and County. From the Salthill Prom to Portumna; from Kinvara to Cleggan; from Gort to Glenamaddy.

The theme of the competition is My Galway, My Culture – People, Places and Events in Galway, Summer 2015 – and it’s open to any amateur photographer over the age of 18.

Photos must be taken between 1^st July and the closing date of 30^th August 2015.

We’ll exhibit the best images in the Print Works at the Connacht Tribune in September and the winner, which will be selected by a panel of professional photographers, will receive a holiday for two in Croatia, thanks to Croatia Tours.
