Crime figures drop dramatically in Loughrea

Burglaries in the Loughrea area have dropped dramatically compared to last year.

Two burglaries were reported in the region between March and June, compared to 20 in the same months last year.

But while crime figures were down Superintendent Enda Walsh said there was still no reason for complacency.

He was speaking at the Joint Policing Committee meeting in Loughrea.
