CREGMORE residents, unhappy with proposals for a dangerous road crossing near their local national school, now want to meet senior council officials about the matter.

Schoolchildren were lucky to escape following a multiple vehicle crash beside the school last April.

Now remedial safety measures proposed by the NRA are not sufficient according to residents.

The residents met last night with other concerned people and the four area councillors.

Councillor Jim Cuddy says they now want to meet with senior officials in the county council to express their dissatisfaction at the safety measures proposed.
