Creative Mapping at Kinvara Courthouse
The KAVA art gallery at Kinvara Courthouse will host an exhibition of art from primary school students starting this Friday, June 3, and running until Sunday, June 12.
Creative Mapping is the work of pupils from New Quay National School which received an Arts Council Creative School grant in 2020.
According to school principal, Mary Reidy, it’s been a great bonus to the children.
“An after-school art appreciation programme has been re-established since Easter and is offered as a free programme to children from first class upwards,” she says.
Facilitated by parents Ellie Farrell and Cate King, this will continue until early June.
With the help of Creative Schools funding and guidance from County Clare’s Arts Coordinator Ceara Conway, local artist Ruth Wood has taken the entire school through another visual process, Mary Reidy adds.
