COUPLE HOSPITALISED AFTER BOAT CAPSIZES IN GALWAY BAY

Two people have been taken to hospital after their dinghy capsized in Galway Bay this afternoon. [26/9]

The man and woman raised the alarm around noon when their sailing dinghy overturned near Blackhead.

The Shannon-based coastguard helicopter flew to the area and winched the two to safety.

The couple have been taken to University Hospital Galway where they’re being treated for possible hypothermia.
