COUNTY SPEED LIMITS TO BE REVIEWED

The public will soon have a chance to have a say on Galway’s speed limits.

The County Council is to invite submissions from the public on what the speed limits should be on National, Primary and Secondary Roads throughout the county.

They’ll form part of a review of speed limits in Galway which will be sent to the Department of Transport next October.

The Department is already proposing to change the default speed limit of National Secondary Roads from 100 kilometres per hour to 80 kilometres per hour.

Cllr Jim Cuddy says the speed limit review is long-overdue.
