COUNTY MAYOR SAYS BOTTOM UP APPROACH WILL FIGHT THE RECESSION

The Mayor of County Galway Jimmy McClearn says ‘get up and go’ at community level will go a long way towards beating the recession.

Speaking on Galway Bay fm’s annual Christmas Messages programme, Mayor McClearn says that while it’s a difficult time for people who are unemployed, there is hope.

Mayor McClearn is joined on the Christmas Messages programme by Mayor of Galway Michael Crowe, Bishop of Galway Martin Drennan, Rector of Galway Gary Hastings, and Presbyterian and Methodist Reverend William Hayes.

The 45 minute programme is presented by Head of News Bernadette

Prendergast, and will be broadcast on Galway Bay fm at 6 this evening and tomorrow Christmas Day at 1pm.
