County Mayor officiates at Athenry ring road opening
County Mayor Tom Welby has officiated at the opening of the Athenry Ring Road.
This phase will link the three local roads of the Tuam Road, Turloughmore Road and Ballygurrane Road accessing the town.
It has been in use for the last six weeks prior to the official opening.
The overall project started about three years ago and has cost in the region of three million euro.
Local Councillor Peter Feeney says the official opening marks an important day for the town’s infrastructure.
