There’s hope that a resolution to the ongoing flooding problems in Oranmore will be reached this Friday.

Galway County Manager Martina Maloney is meeting a representative group of residents from Moneymore to discuss the flooding which is being caused by a drain that hasn’t been maintained.

Deputy Noel Grealish will be attending the meeting along with Senator Fidelma Healy Eames and a number of council officials

The meeting comes in the wake of a protest held in the area last Friday.

There’s been confusion as to who is responsible for maintaining drainage in the area – the County Council or developers of the housing estates.
