County Galway CEO to formally close VEC structure
Galway Bay fm newsroom – The historic closure of County Galway VEC takes place this afternoon.
Outgoing CEO Joe McDonagh will formally announce the closure at a meeting in Petersburg outdoor education centre in Clonbur.
From Monday, the city and county VECs are to merge with Roscommon to form the Galway Roscommon education and training board.
Former GAA president Joe McDonagh moves to the Mayo Sligo Leitrim education and training board.
Mayor of County Galway Liam Carroll will also turn the sod on an extension at the Petersburg education centre, which he says will really benefit the locality.
