COUNTY COUNCIL TO SWITCH OFF WATER AT UNOCCUPIED PROPERTIES WITH LEAKS

Unoccupied property in the county which may have leaks, will have its water supply turned off without notice.

The action is being taken by the County Council in a bid to tackle the levels of water in reservoirs, which is resulting in water outages and is affecting 80 thousand water users in Galway.

The demand for water is now two and a half times what the County Council can produce.

The County Council will be turning off water on ALL schemes from now until reservoirs build up again.

Water will be turned off on all county supplies from 9 each night to 9 the following morning.
