COUNTY COUNCIL LAUNCHES CHRISTMAS ROAD SAFETY CAMPAIGN

Up to 200 tonnes of salt is being laid down by Galway county council on our roads each night this week.

It’s part of the Council’s Christmas 2009 Road Safety Campaign.

Electronic message signs warning drivers of the dangers of speed, fatigue and driving under the influence have also been installed on all the main roads.

The county council is urging motorists to take personal responsibility for their own safety and that of other road users during the cold weather.
