COUNTY COUNCIL CALLED ON TO SORT TUAMS TRAFFIC WOES
Date Published: 06-Oct-2010
Traffic delays through Tuam because of the ‘big dig’ have been described as intolerable and the County Council has been ordered to sort the matter out.
Members of Tuam Town Council expressed complete dissatisfaction with the hour-long tailbacks as a result of the 28 million euro dig for the provision of new water and sewerage facilities.
Project Manager with Galway County Council Dermot Collins assured members that no works would take place around the town centre over the Christmas period.
Councillor Shaun Cunniffe said that there’s no obvious traffic management plan in place for the dig.
