COUNCILLORS TO VOTE ON KIRWAN ROUNDABOUT CHANGEOVER

Galway City Councillors are to vote on the planned changeover of the Kirwan roundabout at the Menlo Park Hotel next Monday.

Two proposals will come before members at the next meeting of the local authority on May 14th.

The option preferred by Galway City Transportation Unit involves diverting a road from the Menlo Park Hotel grounds through to the Headford Road.

The other would see the creation of a second exit into Liosban Industrial Estate off Bothar na dTreabh which is expected to carry significant cost.

Councillors may also choose to leave the roundabout as is, in its current design.
