COUNCILLOR SLAMS DELAY IN OPENING GALWAY SEX ASSAULT TREATMENT UNIT

A city councillor has strongly criticised the delay in providing a sexual assault treatment unit for victims of sex attacks in Galway.

Funding of €2.4 million was provided in the 2006 budget to open two units, one in Galway and one in Mullingar.

But neither have opened yet.
