COUNCILLOR’S CLAIM DISMISSED OVER FLOOD WARNING STAFF SHORTAGE

Director of Services at Galway City Council Ciaran Hayes has dismissed reports by a City Councillor that there’s no staff on stand-by this weekend to deal with the impending flood warning.

Councillor Terry O’Flaherty claimed there wasn’t adequate provisions made to deal with the monster waves of up to 45 feet expected to hit the West coast this weekend.

Mr. Hayes however says all the necessary arrangements are in place to deal with the flood warning.
