Council votes to remove Merlin Woods bus corridor from Development Plan

It follows a motion raised by Cllr Frank Fahy and seconded by Cllr Collette Connolly at last evening’s meeting of the Council at City Hall.

Director of Services for Planning, Tom Connell, told Councillors that the proposal was not put in lightly and was built around a sustainable travel model for the east of the city.

A detailed assessment must now be carried out by officials with a report to come before Councillors later in the year.

The City Development Plan is due for review next January.

City Manager Brendan McGrath told the chamber that there was no immediacy attached to the project and no funding in place.
