Council urged to refuse permission for South Park carpark

Galway Bay fm newsroom – A proposal to convert part of South Park into a car park with 200 spaces is being strongly opposed by City Councillor Catherine Connolly.
The plan has been submitted as part of an application by the GAA to erect floodlights at Pearse Stadium.
The submission states almost 4,500 parking spaces have been secured at various locations, including South Park.
However Cllr Connolly argues that this submission is ‘misleading’ and is calling on city planners to review the matter.
