Council to seek tenders for Westside Sports Complex
Galway Bay fm newsroom – Tenders for work on Westside sports campus are due to be published this month.
At a meeting of the City Council last night it was agreed to utilise a loan, which was approved for the Council for the works on the Séamus Quirke Road, to fund the project.
Director of Services for Transportation and Infrastructure, Ciarán Hayes, asked the councillors to approve the tender process.
In a report to councillors, he outlined that tender documents for the procurement of a contractor are being prepared, with a view to going to tender in the next week.
The Council hopes to have a contractor on site in Westside by September.
Mayor of Galway, Padraig Conneely told Galway Bay fm News that the tenders can go ahead because the funding is in place.
