Council to progress plan to end right turn in city centre
Galway Bay fm newsroom – The City Council is hoping to progress plans to remove a right turn on a city centre artery from next week.
A public meeting for people living at Ravens Terrace and The Claddagh took place last week.
Locals were informed about the plan to stop motorists travelling from The Spanish Arch from turning right after Wolfe Tone Bridge onto Ravens Terrace.
The Council also wants to prevent motorists travelling from The Claddagh from turning right onto Wolfe Tone Bridge or trying to cross Fr. Griffin Road onto Ravens Terrace.
A new right hand turning lane is proposed for Fr. Griffin Road outside the fire station.
Speaking on ‘Galway Talks’, Director of Services Ciarán Hayes explained where motorists travelling from The Claddagh would have to go.
