Over 800 locations in Galway were seriously flooded last November.

At this week’s county council meeting, a committee involving the county council and Office of Public Work officials identified the flooded areas.

County manager Martina Moloney told councillors at least 220 houses were flooded and that a small number of families have looked for re-location.

The manager also announced that a number of studies would be carried out in the coming months.

Meanwhile, the Council has quashed concerns about the quality of water in the Connemara public supply.

Councillor Seán Kyne said people in Roundstone are worried about their local supply, but Director of Services, Jim Cullen said the treatment plant in Carna reaches the highest modern standards.
