COUNCIL HAS NO RECORD OF CONTROVERSIAL LOUGHREA WATER TEST

Galway County Council has no record of receiving a test carried out on Loughrea drinking water which revealed high levels of pollution.

Water department Senior engineer Liam Gavin says his department has not seen the test that Loughrea area candidate PJ McDonnell claims was posted to the council last September.

Mr. Gavin also says that water testing is carried out by the Health authority on a monthly basis, and all files for water testing in Loughrea last September show no abnormalities.
