COUNCIL HAS NO FUNDS TO PAY WEEKEND STANDBY STAFF

The current economic cutbacks have serious consequences for road users at weekends in the county.

That’s according to Councillor Jarlath McDonagh, who say regardless of massive potholes appearing on roads at weekends, the Council has no funds to pay for weekend standby staff to fix them.

Councillor McDonagh says that if the Council doesn’t fix dangerous road conditions at weekends, there could be fatal consequences.
