Corrandulla Show: ‘great to be back on the road’

Matt Lynch, Corrandulla and Pat Davoren, Headford, watch the judging of the cattle classes at the 2014 Corrandulla Show.

IT’S back to the ‘good old days’ as Corrandulla Show returns later this month following on from two ‘blank summers’ due to the Covid pandemic.

Their last show was held in June 2019, and little did the organisers realise then, that it would be another three years before they’d be back on the road again.

This year’s event, which takes place on Sunday, June 26, will be launched on this Friday night (8.30) at Peggy’s Bar and Restaurant in Aucloggeen, with a hectic day of activity lined up for all. In the past, the show has attracted crowds of up to 10,000 and if the weather holds up reasonably well this year, they are expecting similar numbers on the last Sunday in June (26th), as people relish the chance again to be part of such landmark rural occasions.

Free children’s entertainment, an extensive selection of market stalls, as well as a variety of horse and showjumping competitions will feature on the day.
