CONTROVERSIAL BELCLARE QUARRY GETS FINAL GO AHEAD

A controversial quarry outside Tuam has got the final go-ahead from the Planning Appeals Board.

Frank Mortimer was initially given permission by Galway County Council for a limestone quarry at Cartron Beclare.

However, locals appealled this decision to An Bord Pleanála, which has ruled in favour of the quarry.
