Galway Bay fm newsroom – Minister for the Environment, Phil Hogan, will be in Clifden next week to oversee the signing of the contract for a new sewerage system for the area.

He has given approval to the County Council to sign the contract with Wills Brothers and Electrical and Pump Services Limited (EPS).

It’ll incorporate a 2.93 million euro Network Contract and a 2.19 million euro contract for the wastewater treatment plant.

Work will begin in the next few weeks and a public consultation will take place.

Councillor Eileen Mannion says people living in Clifden have been waiting 15 years for this vital infrastructure upgrade.
