CONNEMARA WOMAN KILLED IN AFGHANISTAN WHILE ON ARMY DUTY

A young Connemara woman has been killed while serving with the American Army in Afghanistan.

Word reached the Lettermore area last evening of the death of 30 year old Ciara Durkan who was a member of the United States National Guard.

Ciara had left Connemara as a nine year old, but she later returned and attended secondary school in Carraroe.
