CONNEMARA SEAWEED INDUSTRY LOSES MAJOR CLIENT

The seaweed industry in Connemara has been hit hard with news that almost one fifth of its market has been lost.

The FMC factory in Girvan, Scotland has been forced to axe 145 jobs and move operations to Norway.

The scottish factory was one of the biggest buyers of seaweed from the Arramara company in Cill Chiaráin.
