CONNEMARA ROAD PROJECT ON BRINK OF FAILURE

The plan to build a new road through in South Connemara to Galway city is on the brink of failure.

Some County Councillors say that project has been ruined as a result of environmental designations which have been a key factor in dictating the route.

A meeting of Connemara Councillors at which they may reject the route proposals,would cause major uncertainty about the future of the project.
