CONNEMARA MAN CHARGED WITH ASSAULT TO BE PSYCHIATRICALLY ASSESSED

A 38 year old Lettermore man who was taken into custody at his home last weekend was further remanded in custody following his appearance before Galway District Court this week.

Joseph Joyce of Tiernee, Lettermore, is charged with assaulting Mary Joyce, causing her harm at the same address on Saturday last, August 9th.

He is further charged with producing a knife with intent to cause fear or harm, during the assault.
