Connemara based group Glór na Tithe is angry but not down over Minister Phil Hogan’s refusal to meet them during his two day visit to Galway

The Environment minister was in Loughrea yesterday and after visiting Oughterard this morning is now in Clifden to attend the town’s 200 birthday celebrations

Glor na Tithe, which is fighting against septic tank charges lobbied the local TDs to secure the meeting

However late last evening Deputy Sean Kyne informed them that Minister Hogan would not be meeting them

Glor spokesperson Padraic Tailliur O’Conghaile says they will meet Minister Hogan officially or unofficially at another time

Deputy Kyne says he understands Minister Hogan’s decision to confine debate on the septic tanks issue to the Dail

He also says fears over the septic tanks issue such as those held by Glor na Tuaithe will prove to be unfounded in the long term.
