Connemara Fine Gael select three for ouncil elections

Fine Gael selected its three candidates for the Connemara electoral area at a convantion last night (Nov 15).
The party held its selection convention in the Boat Inn in Oughterard.
The three candidates put forward were selected without a vote.
These are sitting councillors Eileen Mannion from Clifden and Seosaimh O’Laoi from Lettermullen, and newcomer Niamh Byrne from Oughterard.
The convention was chaired by Galway East Deputy Paul Connaughton and among the speakers were Deputy Sean Kyne, Senator Hildegarde Naughton and Mayor of County Galway Cllr Liam Carroll.
Former Deputy Padraic McCormack was also in attendance.
