Galway Bay fm newsroom – There is intense interest among the Connemara and west of Ireland community in Boston in tomorrow’s Mayoral election in the city.

Marty Walsh, the son of emigrants from the Connemara Gaeltacht has been showing ahead as the campaign enters its final hours.

While City Councillor John Connolly held the lead for a long time, the latest opinion polls put Walsh ahead by anything between 3 and 7 points.

A massive citywide operation is now underway to get out the voters and to put Marty Walsh in charge of City Hall and the administration of the City of Boston for the next 4 years.

The result should be known sometime on Wednesday morning.
