The trial of a 50-year old Connemara man, who is charged with assaulting traditional Irish musician Noel Hill, has been further adjourned.

Michael Folan from Teach Mór, Lettermullen is charged with intentionally or recklessly causing serious harm to Noel Hill, contrary to Section 4 of the Non-Fatal Offences Against the Person Act 1997, at Tí Padraig Mairtín Beag in Leitir Mór, Connemara on St Stephen’s Day, 2008.

The case was sent to Dublin last year for judicial review by the High Court regarding Mr Folan’s wishes to have his trial heard through the medium of Irish and the matter has now been referred to the Supreme Court.
