CONNEMARA ALLEGED SEX ABUSE TRIAL ADJOURNED

The trial of a 41 year old Dublin man who is charged with sexually assaulting four children from the one family in Connemara during the 1990’s, has been adjourned for hearing before a new jury panel later this year.

The man, who cannot be named for legal reasons, appeared for trial before Galway Circuit Criminal Court this week.

He denied seventeen charges of sexual assault, involving three sisters and their brother, while he was renting a holiday home in Connemara on various dates between 1997 and 2000.

The trial, which began yesterday was adjourned today following lengthy legal argument and will commence before a new jury panel later this year.
