Connacht give hope of better days

RIGHT, now we’re talking. A home win against Glasgow is far from un-chartered territory for Connacht but they had a job to do on Friday and were under considerable pressure to boot. In that tension filled environment this emerging side delivered, raising hope that better days may well lie ahead. At times the composure deserted Connacht and boy did they ride their luck with Glasgow missing no less than four eminently kickable penalties in front of the posts and wasting 25 minutes of possession in the home side’s half, but to a large extent the winners earned the breaks.
Glasgow’s botched try efforts were often forced by some stern and determined Connacht defending. Throughout a nervy second half, John Muldoon and his team stood defiantly in the Warriors way with a spirit that seemed to confirm from a long way out that there was no way this game was going to slip from their grasp.
When things are going reasonably well no team tackleswith such frequency and intensity as Connacht on a weekly basis and the victory was engineered from the efforts of the likes of Muldoon and Mike McCarthy. The latter was…..
