CONCERNS OVER GALWAY BCG VACCINATION

Concerns have been raised about the administration of the BCG vaccine in Galway.

Election candidate for Galway West Sean Kyne claims UHG in Galway and Portiuncula hospital in Ballinasloe, have not yet implemented the vaccination programme for newborn babies.

He claims that both hospitals are unable to do so because of lack of funds, staff cutbacks and the recruitment embargo.

A vaccination outreach programme is already underway in Galway city for the thousands of children who have not been inoculated against Tuberculosis.
