CONCERNS ABOUT WIDENING CURRAGHLINE AT BARNA WASTE

The National Roads Authority had lodged an appeal against the grant of planning permission for a yard at a recycling facility off the N84 Headford Road.

Barna Waste was granted permission for a yard area to store empty refuse vehicles, skips and bins, a building and a new internal link road in the townland of Sylaun.

However the NRA has concerns about safety on the Curragh line as a result.

The NRA says the road would inevitably have to be widened to facilitate a proposed turning lane for the waste facility.

This, it says, would cause further settlement and deformation to the N84.
