CONCERNS ABOUT OVERCROWDING AT WOODFORD SCHOOL

The campaign to secure a much needed extension for the Mercy Secondary School in Woodford is to be stepped up.

Councillor Pat Hynes says the college was originally built to accommodate 200 students, but now has a student body of 264

An application for capital funding towards the provision of an extension has been submitted to the Department of Education

Minister Mary Hanafin has written to Councillor Hynes informing him that an extension to Woodford secondary school will be considered

Councillor Hynes says there are serious concerns about overcrowding at the school at present.
